Oluhlaza is the isiZulu word for green and title of the blog recently created for the property, 10 Mount Argus Road http://oluhlaza.blogspot.com/. The old Buttery homestead, tucked away on a panhandle, is a green enclave providing refuge to those who live in its garden and those who work and live in the rest of the spaces. Margaret and Pieter Burger’s shared passion is indigenous plants and all things botanical. The planted garden is 20 years old with original coastal Ficus burkei specimens in the back yard; 2 of which have very recently succumbed to the heavy rains Durban is experiencing. These new sunlight rich areas are to be freshly planted up in time for visitors to enjoy the garden and experience a variety of habitats ranging from water to wild grasses to serious shade. Please join us for the tour of this living working garden.
Tours of up to two hours in total will start promptly at 08:30, 10:30, 12:30 and 14:30 respectively. Booking and pre-payment are essential. Members: R40 for adults and R20 for children;Non members: R45 for adults and R25 for children. Price includes tea and cake. Numbers are limited to 20 people per tour.
